First, who is RealOptions?

RealOptions Obria Medical Clinics is a non-profit 501(c)3 recognized for its quality of care since 1981. We provide caring, compassionate, high quality holistic healthcare with or without insurance, support services, optimal health education, and reproductive loss healing to women, men, students, and families. RealOptions has five licensed medical clinic locations serving Alameda, San Mateo, and Santa Clara Counties devoted to caring for patients physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We offer a broad spectrum of prevention, intervention, and restorative services to the community positively impacting thousands of students and families each year.

What does the Chief Executive Officer do at RealOptions?

As the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for setting the vision and strategy of the organization, leading the team, and fostering productive partnerships with the supporters and advocates of RealOptions. This includes everything from meeting with donors, community leaders, and pastors to overseeing our operations and financials, medical clinics, and community outreach programs including our education, reproductive loss, and college campus teams.  On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be responding to inbound communications from supporters and staff; reviewing and approving external communications; meeting regularly with functional leaders to assess needs and assist in problem solving; building relationships with supporters in person and over the phone; preparing presentations for upcoming events and speaking opportunities in person or over the radio; communicating with our Board chair and other Board members to keep them informed of important events or impending decisions; liaising with other pro-life organizations; speaking to the media; dealing with legal and regulatory affairs; and encouraging and inspiring volunteers and staff members. There’s never a dull moment!

What a day in the life looks like:

 Leadership

  • You’ll supervise or delegate the supervision of all functions and aspects of the organization.
  • You’ll administer and implement the goals and policies of the Board of Directors.
  • You’ll set the vision and strategy for the organization and in close collaboration with the Board of Directors, leadership staff, and other key stakeholders.
  • You’ll be responsible for the development of medical policies and procedures in conjunction with the Medical Director and Director of Nursing, to meet all statutory requirements for State licensing and patient care.
  • You’ll formulate, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and management system which assures efficiency, accountability, and appropriate delegation of tasks.
  • You’ll establish and maintain an evaluation system which continuously assesses the programs and services of the organization and assures that the medical clinics are providing adequate and appropriate services to patients.
  • You’ll oversee the development of the annual operational budget and work with the Director of Operations and the Board of Directors to set its parameters.
  • You’ll oversee the structure and decisions regarding fundraising events/activities.
  • You’ll assess current monthly metrics and suggest new metrics by which the Board of Directors can properly assess progress and challenges.

Personnel

  • You’ll work with the HR Director on organizational development and maintaining/improving an efficient system of best practices for the hiring, training, supervision, retention, promotion, evaluation, remuneration, ongoing education, and termination of personnel.
  • You’ll maintain good communications and hold regular meetings to support team leaders/directors (Operations, Patient Services, Medical, Marketing, Community Outreach, Education, College Campus, and Hope Programs).

Public Relations

  • You’ll be RealOptions’ main ambassador to the community, often giving presentations and interviews about the organization to a wide variety of audiences.
  • You’ll regularly interact with pastors and leaders of church related and community organizations, new and ongoing, to maintain and grow positive relationships.
  • You’ll represent the organization to the community for purposes including increasing clientele, volunteer recruitment, and financial support.
  • You’ll research and engage guest speakers for fundraising purposes and make recommendations to the Board of Directors.
  • You’ll provide oversight, support and participation in all major fundraising projects and programs.
  • You’ll regularly interact with partner, affiliate and friendly organizations, including Obria Medical Group, to foster collaborative efforts and areas of cooperation between them and RealOptions.

Fundraising Responsibilities

  • You’ll build strong relationships with existing and new major donors.
  • You’ll oversee and lead Community Outreach efforts to engage and grow the broader supporter base.
  • You’ll be responsible for identifying and pursuing relevant Government and Foundation grants that align with the mission of RealOptions.
  • You’ll be responsible for identifying and securing donors to provide Event Underwriting.

  • You preferably have experience working in a life affirming medical organization.
  • You have previous senior-level experience in business administration and people management.
  • You have completed a Bachelor’s degree or gained equivalent business experience.
  • You demonstrate excellent administrative and public relations skills.
  • You understand and live out executive leadership principles that build confidence in those around you.
  • You understand the fundamentals behind mission statements, strategy development and managing for results.
  • You understand corporate structures and governance of a nonprofit organization.
  • You understand the importance and principles of marketing and branding.
  • You understand the importance of risk management of a pro-life organization in our current culture.
